The HCG Diet Plan
The HCG Diet Plan, HCG is the abbreviation for Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin, which is a hormone that expectant mothers produce in the early stages of gestation. Research has indicated that a small HCG supplement, taken on a daily basis, cause most healthy individuals to lose weight.
Typically, the weight loss that results from HCG is roughly
between 1 and 2 pounds daily, and often people lose more, when they consume a
diet very low in calories. I already covered the whole HCG weight loss topic in
another post, so now let’s look into the HCG diet meal plan.
The HCG diet comprises three phases; loading, burning and
maintenance. The first phase requires taking the HCG and loading with foods
that have a high content of fats and carbohydrates. This is necessary so that
the body will start to adjust to the effects of the HCG drops.
Moving on to the burning phase, you will continue with the
drops and start the very low calorie diet. At the maintenance phase, you will
not be able to eat any starches or sugar for a 3-week period. Additional
details of the three phases are included below:
HCG Diet Plan Phase 1: Loading
Day 1 and day 2 require loading up on fatty, high-calorie
foods. Many see this as crazy or
counter-productive; however, it is extremely necessary for the diet to work
optimally. Go right ahead and have a
some tasty meals over these two days.
HCG Diet Plan Phase 2: Burning
Before beginning, a goal should be set regarding the amount
of weight you would like to burn off. It
is not uncommon for individuals to lose as much as 30 pounds during a 25-day
HCG cycle; however, results vary as each individual’s body is unique.
This diet requires that you immerse yourself in the burning
phase for a minimum of 21 days and a max of 42 days. If your weight loss goal is achieved prior to
the ending of the 21-day period, the number of calories you are consuming can
be bumped up but the burning phase should be continued until you have completed
at least 21 days. If your weight loss
goal is not achieved after being in the burning phase for 42 days, you must
proceed to the maintenance phase.
During the burning phase, go with the HCG Diet Plan. The
plan provides you with a menu that should be followed throughout the burning
phase. Stick it out, you will be elated that you did.
A few other things to take note of during this phase:
Drink a lot of water
Follow the HCG diet plan
Do not forget to use the HCG Drops
During the last 3 days of the burning phase, the HCG drops
should be discontinued; however, the Diet Plan should continue.
HCG Diet Plan Phase 3: Maintenance
Prior to resuming a normal diet, this step must be followed
to assist your body in adapting to other foods.
Over the next 3 weeks, no sugar or starches should be
consumed, with those exceptions, your normal diet can be resumed. The body requires this stabilization period;
therefore, as the 3 weeks go by, reintroduce the foods into your diet. Close to
the end of the maintenance period, introduce starches and sugars back into your
diet gradually.
Continue the daily recording of your weight every morning
and if more than 2 pounds have been gained on any given day, skip a meal. This assists your body in regulating both
your weight and your appetite.
Below is a detailed outline of the HCG Diet plan:
This is extremely essential. Ensure that you adhere to the
HCG diet plan to boost your results.
Breakfast
Drink as much coffee or tea as desired but no sugar should
be used. One tablespoonful of milk is
allowed daily. Stevia or saccharin can
be used as sweeteners.
Lunch and Dinner
The following items must be eaten for Lunch and Dinner. Try mixing it up a bit; perhaps cucumbers
and fish for lunch and asparagus and
grilled chicken for dinner.
A. 100 grams of the
meats below (weighed raw):
Chicken breast
Beef
Shrimp
Fresh white fish
Veal
Lobster
Please note: All fat should be removed before grilling,
baking or boiling.
B. A single serving of one of the vegetables below:
Green salad
Chicory
Asparagus
Beet-greens
Chard
Spinach
Onions
Celery
Cabbage
Fennel
Red radishes
Tomatoes
Cucumbers
C. One Melba toast or breadstick.
D. One of the fruits below:

Remember, each of these foods is consumed twice every

idea. For instance, eat the vegetable if you start feeling hungry and after an
hour, eat a fruit. Having the meals
spaced out like that will help you to stick to the task at hand.
Use the following for seasoning:
Basil, garlic, parsley, oregano, thyme, etc.
Vinegar
Mustard powder
Pepper
Salt
The following drinks can be consumed all day:
Plain water
Coffee
Tea
Please note: It is recommended that a minimum of two liters
of water be consumed on a daily basis.
Important Notes on the HCG Diet Plan
2 small apples are an unacceptable trade for 1 apple.
Stick to the 500-calorie restriction.
Occasionally, 100 grams of skimmed milk cottage cheese can
be substituted for meat.
On rare occasions, a raw, boiled or poached egg can be eaten
Please note: Individuals who, for any reason, cannot eat
meat should consume 3 egg whites and whole egg instead.
